Module 1
Prepare to Lead
Learn your leadership strengths and how to use those strengths to benefit your team
Module Highlights:
- Take a look back. Before you can look forward, you have to reflect on yourself and previous leaders you’ve had in your life. Reflection is one of the most undervalued, yet powerful tools to success, so you start with learning more about yourself.
- Discuss your personal strengths and weaknesses as a leadership team to get to know each other on a new level
- Develop your personal passion project to propose to your coach in the final meeting
Module 2
Set Your Goals
Now that you know what motivates you as a leader and you have thought about some big goals you want to help your team achieve, it’s time to set out the plan for how to make it happen.
Module Highlights:
- Understand the basic principles of goal setting, what makes them so important, why they are effective, and examine your personal goals for both dance technique and leadership skills
- Learn the 5 step method to writing a goal that will STICK
- Apply the workbook questions and discussion points to outline a clear plan for attacking your goals this season, tracking your progress, and making huge strides in personal growth
Module 3
Find Your Leadership Style
Now that you have a clear passion and goals laid out for your leadership journey, it’s time to work out how to be an effective leader. There are 5 leadership styles, and with the short quiz in Module 3 you’ll learn which style you naturally fit into.
Module Highlights:
- Learn the 3 C’s of leadership, and exactly what to focus on in order to be an effective leader
- Take the leadership personality quiz and identify your natural tendencies as a leader.
- If you’re working with a group of captains, you can determine your group’s strengths and areas to lean on each other for support so that your team has the most well-rounded group of leaders possible
Module 4
Overcome Challenges
Even the most effective leaders will come up against some serious challenges during the season. The best thing you can do is consider possible scenarios and obstacles that will come up, and create a clear plan of action now, while you have time to consider your options without pressure.
Module Highlights:
- Consider examples of real-world challenges that are specific to dance teams like modeling how to take corrections
- Make a plan for handling those leadership challenges common to all athletes, like dealing with a teammate’s poor behavior on social media or what to do when you disagree with your coach
- Take your leadership to the next level with the Feedback challenge. A simple 30-minute exercise you can do while teaching, to get some real feedback you can use to be a better leader overnight.
Module 5
Connect With Coach
Once you’ve done all of the work to answer some difficult questions, consider who you want to be as a leader, and exactly what you can bring to your team, it’s time to sit down with your coach.
Module Highlights:
- Simple summary sheets to quickly pull together everything you’ve learned and talk it through with your coach, saving you all valuable time
- An exercise to practice having a challenging conversation, one that needs a real resolution before the beginning of the season. That way, you set the foundation for how this powerful relationship will go all year
- Clearly identify your roles and responsibilities with your coach and fellow captains so that action plans happen and your great ideas get put into action

That depends on you and your team! Most captains complete the work in about 2 weeks, but you can take it as fast or as slow as you want. Remember,you have access for a full year, and your captains are the ones doing the heavy lifting. So if it's summer and you want them to go faster, that's up to you!
You think that, and that’s a good thing because most teams (including your competitors) won’t take the time to do this. So you’ll be the team who doesn’t get derailed during the season!
Not at all! While it helps to set up your leaders at the beginning of the season, it's better late than never!
There's no "wrong time" to train your captains and everything they learn inside the training will be valuable no matter what time of year it is.
No! The $297 price point is meant to be used PER TEAM. So if you have 3 captains, they can all take the course, and I hope they take it together!
